The action takes place in a medieval fantasy world where knights exist, and battles an d other things take place, but the actual setting is based on our own world.Of course, the characters in Sir Gawain and the Green Knight have varying abilities, traits, and personalities, and some of them are rather flawed. Each character is somewhat unlike the next, and some of them are quite funny. Most of the characters are indeed very vivid, and one feels close to them.In addition to introducing some of the major characters, Gaiman has provided some eye-opening observations about the modern world. The author provides some very interesting information on the limitations of human imagination. He also gives some interesting insight into how the physical nature of the human body can greatly affect how we relate to one another and the environment.The readers will enjoy Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, even if they don't necessarily agree with all of the points that Gaiman makes. The book is a humorous exploration of the real world we live in. In fact, it may be a good way to get one started thinking about some of the important aspects of our current world.
